Group Ministries

Our desire is to be a church that gathers well on Sundays and scatters well throughout the week.

One of the primary ways we encourage discipleship throughout the week is through two kinds of small groups (Community Groups and Discipleship Groups).

The difference between Community Groups and Discipleship Groups generally lies in their purpose, size, and structure. While both aim to foster spiritual growth and build relationships, they do so in different ways:

Community Groups

  • Focus: Building relationships, fostering a sense of belonging, and providing general support within the church body.

  • Size: Larger, often 6-12 adults, typically composed of a mix of people (e.g., families, singles, young adults) from different spiritual maturity levels.

  • Content: Bible study, prayer, fellowship, service projects, and social activities.

  • Structure: Relatively informal, focusing on community and shared life together.

  • Goal: To cultivate deeper relationships within the church.

Discipleship Groups

  • Focus: Intentional spiritual growth, accountability, and mentoring in the faith.

  • Size: Smaller, often 2–5 people, allowing for deeper relationships and personalized attention.

  • Content: Typically involves structured Bible study, book studies, theological discussions, prayer, and accountability in spiritual disciplines.

  • Structure: More intentional and focused, often with a leader or mentor guiding the group.

  • Goal: To foster deeper discipleship and to help individuals grow in Christlikeness.

How They Work Together

We encourage participation in both types of groups. Community Groups provide a broader sense of connection, while Discipleship Groups offer a more intimate setting for growth and accountability.
